Annual Awards Ceremony You are scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the annual awards ceremony on Thursday, April 24, frcm 5:30 p.m. to 7:30' p.m. You are scheduled to arrive at the Disabled Veteran's Building, 807 Maine Avenue, S.W. and speak at 6:10 p.m. Upon your arrival you will be met by Bernice Moore, director of the Mental Retardation Volunteer Advocates Associates, Inc. Participants on stage with you will be Bernice Moore and Judges Ricardo Urbina and George Goodrich. Judge Urbina has been asked to introduce you in light of Judge H. Carl Moultrie's death (There will be a tribute to Judge Moultrie). Approximately 200 persons are expected to be present. They will include judges (Family Division, D.C. Superior Court), lawyers, advocates, family and friends of the awardees. Each year the volunteer advocates of the D.C. Superior Court who serve on behalf of the mentally retarded citizens of the District are recognized and honored at an Awards Ceremony. Special awards are given to these individuals who have given dedicated and outstanding service to their mentally retarded clients. Draft remarks are attached.
